Sixteenth Amendment

"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."

This is Americas favorite amendment!! Just kidding, this is our Governments right to take a portion of our money!! Not good :(

The law that never was

The following is a quote from Bill Benson’s web page: “The authority of the federal government to collect its income tax depends upon the 16th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the federal income tax amendment, which was allegedly ratified in 1913. After a year of extensive research, Bill Benson discovered that the 16th Amendment was not ratified by the required 3/4 of the states, but nevertheless Secretary of State Philander Knox fraudulently announced ratification.”
On January 10, 2008, the Federal District Court in Chicago issued a permanent injunction against Bill Benson on the grounds that he was falsely telling people that the 16th amendment was never ratified.
How can a court issue an injunction that prevents a person from expressing his opinion without violating the 1st amendment?
According to Bill Benson, the court refused to look at the evidence that the 16th amendment was never ratified.
By the end of 1984, Bill Benson had visited every state capitol in the country. According to Mr. Benson’s research not one state legally ratified the 16th amendment.
If what Bill Benson is saying is not true, why is the government so fearful of the American people hearing what he has to say?
In 1913, Woodrow Wilson’s administration started the United States on the progressive path.
Progressives believe in big government controlling the lives of the citizens. They believe in politicians ruling like kings or emperors.

Mr. Taxman! I believe we should question how the government is using our hard earned money. These days it is easy to question they're intentions.
